The Children’s Ministry is in need of adults to keep our kids safe. If you can be available on a weekly or monthly basis, Brandon wants to hear from you.

Introduction
At Crosswinds Church, we value the family and we feel that it is a great privilege and a grave responsibility to nurture, protect, and empower the children who are under our care so that they might learn to live according to God’s word (the Bible.) We seek to accomplish these goals through means including our nursery, the Sunday morning Learning Center, the AWANA
program, and certain special events.
Nursery (0 to 3 years)
At the nursery, your children will be cared for by thoughtful and nurturing volunteers who understand and appreciate the trust which you place in us when you leave your little one in our hands. The nursery is provided for babies and toddlers under 3 years old.
All adults who work in the nursery have gone thorough a screening process including a criminal background check.
Learning Center (3 years to 6th grade)
For the safety of your children, every child who attends the Learning Center is registered with the Children’s Ministry. Children are checked in to the Learning Center upon their arrival, and then released only to a parent or guardian unless other arrangements are made with the Children’s Ministry Director in advance by a parent or guardian.
All areas of the Learning Center - including classrooms, hallways, and the playground – are monitored by adults who have gone thorough a screening process including a criminal background check.
9:00am Time
Prior to the first session at the Learning Center, parents check their children in to the Learning Center at the Stop Station, where they are greeted by a friendly face and you can get the answers to any questions you may have about the Children’s Ministry or the Church in general. If you intend for your children to return for the second session of the Learning Center, you may sign them in for both sessions at this time. From check-in, children go to a supervised area to play and socialize until the program starts.
At 9:00, all the children from Preschool to 6th grade come together for the Opening Ceremony. In the Opening Ceremony, we pray together, share an overview of the day’s Bible Lesson, and sing songs of praise and worship. Once each month, we also feature a Missions Moment, highlighting the ministry of one of our supported missionaries and the culture in which they minister.
From there, the children go to their respective classes where caring and dedicated teachers and classroom helpers present Biblical lessons in dynamic and relevant ways.
The classes are: Preschool and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades, 3rd and 4th grades, 5th and 6th grades.
10:45am Time
Upon arrival for the contemporary worship service, parents and guardians come to the Learning Center and check their children in at the Stop Station. From there, children accompany their parents during the musical portion of the Worship Service. Just before the pastor’s sermon, the children are invited to the front of the room and a brief children’s message is presented. The kids are then escorted to the Learning Center by the Children’s Ministry staff.
At the Learning Center, the youngest children have a time of teaching, followed by crafts and activities that illustrate the lesson, and they have time for play. The bigger kids have an additional time of worship which is youth-led. Then, they engage in lessons and discussions of Biblical truths and real-life issues.
The classes are: Preschool and Kindergarten, 1st through 3rd grades, 4th through 6th grades.
Note: Communion Sundays
On the first Sunday of even months, when we observe communion, there is one service at 9:30. At such times, the Learning Center follows the format of the 10:45 session. (See above.) To know the next time this will occur, please see the church calendar under Event-News.
